An truly hardy Armoured car entired produced in Australia woth War experoence that truly has tested this vehicle. Especially requested by Ukrainian oresident Zelenshy.
Australian engineers created the four-wheel drive armoured Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle, also known as the Infantry Mobility Vehicle. The Australian Defence Industries (ADI), which was previously owned by the government, were principally responsible for the Bushmaster’s design. Thales Australia now manufactures the Bushmaster as a result of acquiring ADI. The Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Netherlands Army, British Army, Indonesian Army, Fiji Infantry Regiment, Jamaica Defence Force, New Zealand Army, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are currently using the Bushmaster in combat. [4]
The Bushmaster’s function is to offer protected troop lift capability or protected mobility transport, with soldiers dismounting from the vehicle before to engaging in combat. The term Infantry Mobility Vehicle (IMV) was initially used to differentiate the Bushmaster because of its low armour first used the title Infantry Mobility Vehicle (IMV) to set it apart from a bigger wheeled or tracked armoured personnel carrier, such the ASLAV and M113, both of which are in Australian service. Bushmaster provided higher ballistic and IED protection than existing aluminium alloy-clad ASLAVs and M113 because to the high-hard steel that was specified for it. Later, the Bushmaster was given the Protected Mobility Vehicle (PMV) moniker.
Design
A Bushmaster that was severely damaged by a bomb in Afghanistan. The front storage bins have been removed to reveal the V-shaped hull of this particular model. Depending on the variation, the Bushmaster is designed for use in northern Australia and can transport up to 9 soldiers along with their gear, gasoline, and supplies for three days. Although a cool water drinking system was originally intended for the vehicle, it was left out during production due to financial restrictions. The vehicle is equipped with air conditioning. Drinking water cooling system installation is being reexamined in light of operational complaints. It has an operating range of 800 km and a road cruise speed of 100 km/h .[20]As a mine-protected vehicle, the Bushmaster offers a high degree of employing its v-hull monocoque to redirect the blast away from the vehicle and its occupants, of protection against land mines. The vehicle’s armour offers defence against Claymore mines, 81 mm mortar fragmentation, small weapons fire up to 7.62 mm ball ammunition, and, with additional appliqué armour, protection from 7.62 mm armour-piercing ammunition.
The vehicle contains an automatic fire suppression system, as well as gasoline and hydraulic tanks outside the crew compartment. One gun ring is installed on the Bushmaster troop carrier model. It is possible to mount a 5.56 mm or 7.62 mm machine gun on the forwards gun ring. [20] The mounting bosses on the two rear hatches enable for the insertion of a swing mount that can hold m7.62 millimetre machine gun
The C-130 Hercules, C-17 Globemaster III, and Mil Mi-26 are all capable of airlifting the Bushmaster. Since the Sentinel tank during World War II, it is the first armoured vehicle entirely designed and produced in Australia
There have been many variants if this vehicle been made and was very useful in Afghanistan against the many mines used there. The vehicle may have been destroyed but the soldiers insisde were safe. They found out this was the case in Ukraine they had confidence in this vehicle to transport their troops in relative saftey and many Ukrainian grew fond of this airconditioned vehicle because of its comfort level compared to soviet era armoured carriers.
